The Edge of Ordinary: an intersection of observation, memory and myth - Paintings by Lisa Hesselgrave

A selection of work will be on view, highlighting the artist’s career as a disciplined and exploratory representational painter. Lisa Hesselgrave has taught Drawing + Painting at Gateway Community College since 2006. Her work focuses on still life, figures, landscapes, and the merging of those subjects. Hesselgrave earned an MFA degree from the Yale University School of Art and a BFA degree from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. Her work has been shown throughout Connecticut and New York in many venues including the Ely House, Artspace, the National Academy of Design, Equity Gallery, and The Painting Center.
