The Center for Educational Services provides academic support in the form of tutorial assistance. Student who are registered for classes make request tutorial assistance. Tutoring offered by the CES is free of charge to the students and students can make more than one appointment weekly. Sessions are 30 minutes long but if more time is required students can book back-to-back sessions.
The CES now provides distance proctoring for online and paper-based exams from other institutions. Exams are by appointment only and must be scheduled and completed within our normal proctoring hours. Proctoring Services are provided at $35 per exam. Proctoring is provided Monday-Thursday 9:00AM – 4:00PM and Fridays 9:00AM – 2:00PM. To schedule an appointment please contact Natasha Jackson at njackson@gatewayct.edu or 203-285-2218.
Tutoring is available online and in-person. Most tutoring is offered in groups and appointments are preferred; walk-ins can see the next available tutor. Groups are no more than 5 students in size. Drop-in tutoring is also available; modality and schedule vary by semester. Drop-in tutoring is available without an appointment for Math 079, 085 and 095, English 066, 091 and 099A.
Our computer lab is also open to students 5 days per week. A lab assistant is available to help students gain access to their GCC email, My CommNet, Blackboard and ALEKS. The lab assistant is also available to provide a limited tutorial for MS Teams, Bookings and Words. Students can use the computer lab to complete assignments. Please visit or call the CES to determine the lab assistant’s schedule.

Center Hours:
The center’s hours vary per semester but are generally:
SPRING 2023 semester hours: Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays 8:00am to 9:00pm & Wednesdays, and Fridays 8:00am to 4:00pm.
English ENG 066, 091, 099A Tutoring
DROP-IN:
- For developmental English (ENG 066, 091, 099A) no appointment is needed. However, for online tutoring to ensure a one-on-one session reserve your spot. To reserve a spot of virtual tutoring click on the tutor’s name that will be doing online session. This will take you to the MS Bookings calendar where you can select the preferred date and time of your session.

To receive a confirmation and the virtual link for your appointment please provide your GCC student email address (EX: Test1234@mail.ct.edu). If you need to cancel for reschedule your appointment for whatever reason, please do so before the schedule time of your appointment. Also please do not schedule two appointments for the same time.
