There are many options for accessing Gateway Community College in our downtown location.
Bicycle
The college encourages biking to campus as New Haven becomes ever-more bicycle friendly. GCC has special bicycle parking station in the Gateway Parking Garage on Crown Street.
Bus
Gateway is one block from the New Haven Green and the central bus stops for the city of New Haven. In addition, Gateway partners with the Connecticut Department of Transportation to offer heavily discounted bus passes to registered students at Gateway. Students may purchase the passes by charging their financial aid at the beginning of the semester. Students may contact the GCC Bookstore for more information.
Metro-North Rail Line
Metro-North has two stations in New Haven, one at Union Station (approximately six (6) blocks from campus) and another the State Street Station (approximately three (3) blocks from campus).
Downtown Shuttle Bus from Union Station
The free weekday shuttle connects rail passengers using Union Station to additional off-site parking locations throughout Downtown New Haven, and makes stops at the Gateway Community College entrance. The Union Station Shuttle runs continuously every 20 minutes, from 6:05a until 10:15p, Monday through Friday.
Shared Rides
Gateway encourages students, faculty, and staff to use the shared ride options. Prime parking spots in the Gateway Garage have been saved for those taking part in the shared ride program. Visit CT Rides for details and to sign up!
