Mary Ellen Cody is the Dean of Development and Community Partnerships at Gateway Community College, Connecticut’s largest community college. She joined the Gateway team in 2008 and her chief responsibilities include raising funds to support Gateway students, faculty and staff; being a liaison to the Gateway Community College Foundation; being responsible for the Public Affairs and Marketing Department, and representing the campus as the Government Relations liaison.
Cody has served in a variety of community, public and government relations positions in Connecticut for the past twenty-five years. She has received several awards from the community: New Haven Business Times for the Twenty Notable Women Award, United Way’s Volunteer of the Year Award, and New Haven Business Times Forty under Forty Award.  
Cody attended the Greater New Haven Chamber of Commerce’s Executive Leadership Training Program and The Business Council of Fairfield County’s Business Leadership Training Program. She graduated from The George Washington University with a B.A. in Political Communication. She has completed all coursework in the Master of Public Health Degree from the University of Connecticut.
Cody and her husband Tom are proud parents of two sons, Patrick and Kevin.
