Antonia Salerno Named Campus Advising Lead

Antonia Salerno joined the Gateway Community College community as the Campus Advising Lead on September 10, 2021.

Originally from Westchester County, NY, Antonia graduated from Westchester Community College, CUNY Hunter College, then the Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter college. Antonia received her MSW in 2011 and began her career in a supported employment program assisting individuals in obtaining and managing employment. In this role, Antonia developed an appreciation for the transformative impact of employment and education, and a passion for working with people in their pursuit of their professional goals. Since 2013, Antonia has been working in the field of academic advisement and higher education administration. From 2018 to 2021, Antonia managed the College Initiative program at the John Jay College Institute for Justice and Opportunity, which provides college access programming to individuals with a history of justice involvement. Prior to this, Antonia honed her advisement skills in the CUNY Start and ASAP Programs at Bronx Community College. Antonia recently moved to New Haven, CT and is excited to build on her administrative and advising skills in her new capacity as Campus Advising Lead at Gateway Community College.
