Allied Health Purpose

  • Collaborates with regional clinical educational centers to provide comprehensive learning opportunities utilizing innovative technologies in the fields of diagnostic medical sonography, dietetics, fitness, nuclear medicine, radiation therapy and radiography.
  • Integrates discipline specific didactic and laboratory instruction with directed clinical practice to prepare graduates for entry level positions consistent with a currently recognized and accepted curriculum for the profession. The Allied Health Department of Gateway is a leading provider of post secondary education and community service. The program promotes comprehensive, quality education committed to high standards in all measurable categories:

Allied Health Goals

  • Promote the allied health professions
  • Provide individualized courses of study to enhance students' academic skills in preparation for application to the program
  • Assure program graduates' competence in written and oral communication, scientific and quantitative reasoning, problem solving, and tools for lifelong learning
  • Assist articulation with four-year institutions, with the Associate Degree as the foundation for a Bachelor's degree
  • Promote continued professional development and lifelong learning through community education programs
  • Ensure effectiveness by meeting or exceeding all accreditation policy requirements
