Working on the Gateway Website

Management of the Website

The GCC website is manged by the web team, with input from the Public Information Committee.  Kim Futrell (kfutrell@gatewayct.edu) is the part-time webmaster for the college.

Requesting Changes to the Website

If information found on the website is factually incorrect, or other changes are requested to content by a member of the GCC community, the best method to request changes is described below.

For small edits

To make small corrections, the web team recommends the following:

  1. Send an email to the webmaster that includes the following:
    • A copy of the URL (web address) of the page into the email describing which page you are editing
    • Describe the edits in the email by pointing out the change, or simply by including the re-written sections

To add forms or documents

The following is suggested:

  1. Send an email to the webmaster that includes the following:
    • A copy of the URL (web address) of the page describing the page on which you would like to add the form, document, or photo.
    • Include the form or document in pdf format or document as an attachment in your email.

For larger edits, re-writes, or new pages to be created

The following is recommended for larger jobs:

  1. Send an email to the webmaster that includes the following:
  2. A copy of the URL (web address) of the page describing the page on which you would like to create and where it should be placed on the website.
  3. Copy the original page into a MS Word document and use "Track Changes" to make edits.  Save the document and attach to the email.

Timeline of Changes

Please note that the turn-around time on website changes is generally three days.  However, during the initial launch of the GCC website, the timeline may be extended. The web team appreciates your patience.
