What do you do in this office?

The Center for Students and Families provides integrated support services for financially and academically challenged students who are at risk of not completing their course of studies towards a degree or certificate program.

How will I benefit from the Center for Students and Families?

The services offered to students through the Center for Students and Families are intended to improve your chances of being academically successful at the college level. These services may include, but are not limited to: Academic Advising and Tutoring; Career Planning; Pre-Employment Development; and Mentoring.

What Financial Support Services are available to help me stay in school? 

Available Financial Support Services may include, but are not limited to: Emergency Financial Assistance for things such as rent, utilities, and transportation; Pre-Screening for Public Benefits such as food stamps, medical and dependent care; Financial Coaching and Credit Repair.

With whom do you share my personal information?

All information is held in the strictest of confidence.We value your relationship with the Center for Students and Families, your trust and faith in us is highly valued.

Can you help me find a job?

The Center for Students and Families collaborates with the Director of Career Services to locate employers who are hiring for positions.The CSF confers with the Financial Aid Office to determine a student’s eligibility for a work study job.

How does what you do help my family?

Direct financial assistance to you is a good example of how your family is helped. The financial assistance to you indirectly helps your family because it takes the burden off them to provide you with funds the family may not have or they may have to sacrifice money set aside for other family matters.

What can I expect from the Center for Students and Families?

You will get as much from the Center for Students and Families as you put into it!By fulfilling your academic obligations as a student, and taking advantage of other services offered through the CSF, you can expect to achieve better grades, earn a college degree or training certificate, stabilize your finances, begin to build financial self-sufficiency for you and your family, and begin a path to a successful career.
