Transfer and Re-Admit Advising

Your Transfer and Re-admit Advising Session

At your transfer or re-admit advising, students will:

  • Review previous credits taken at Gateway or other institutions (please be sure to bring unofficial transcripts from any other college besides Gateway to receive accurate advising); and,
  • Receive academic advising to understand program requirements and select classes.

Making an Advising Appointment

Contact the Student Success to schedule an advising appointment. You will need:

  • Your Student (Banner) ID number: this can be found on your Admissions letter in the top right hand corner
  • Your Transcripts: Unofficial copies may be used for advising purposes.  Please bring a copy of any non-Gateway transcripts to your advising appointment.

When should I contact Advising?

Students should schedule an advising appointment after they have:

  1. Completed the Admissions Process and any Requirements;
  2. Submitted official academic transcripts to Admissions (for official recognition of credits), if applicable; and
  3. Taken their Placement tests (if Math and English have not been taken at another college).
